CROSSROADS: “Photography and Politics” at MOMus-ThMP

The MOMus – Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, under CROOSSROADS speeches cycle organizes on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 19:00, an event entitled “Photography and Politics”.
The event will address issues such as the polarization and competition in social and political life and how they are depicted and translated into art. It will also examine the close relationship of photography with politics -in a broad sense- through its multitude of different practices and applications and the way in which photographs produce political consequences. Finally, the way in which contemporary art manages the compact footprint of memory will alsa be discussed.
Entrance is free to the public.

The discussion panel will include:
• Professor of AUTH, Yiannis Stavrakakis
• Art historian, dep. director of MOMus- Museum of Contemporary Art, Syrago Tsiara
• Curator of MOMus-ThMP Hercules Papaioannou

The discussion will be moderated by journalist, Marina Aimilia Kontou
